Dr. Vinod Hasal holds a degree in classical dance–a doctor of kathak, the super-rhythmic foot dance style. Starting at age 3, and training under his father (the family heritage is kathak), Hasal achieved renown in India and came to South Africa to teach kathak and foster cultural excellence. In South Africa he met his guru, Hare Krishna swami H.H. Bhakti Charuswami, who gave him the mission to spread Krishna consciousness through Kathak dance.
