SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, July 14, 2020: At source above one can watch the on-line appeal by CAPEEM (California Parents for Equality in Educational Material) before the Ninth Circuit Court of the US regarding the earlier dismissal of CAPEEM’s lawsuit against the California State Board of Education for its disparagement of Hinduism in the State’s Standards and Framework for middle school social studies.

CAPEEM’S lawyer states, to give a sense of their arguments, that “only Hindu children learn from a curriculum that disparages their religion.” The SBE lawyer, on the other hand, said there is “nothing there that is denigrating Hinduism.”

Especially for those familiar with the complex issues in California, this is worthwhile watching.
