BENGALURU, INDIA, April 18, 2022 (Indian Express): The annual Bengaluru Karaga temple festival held for over 300 years concluded in the early hours of Sunday in the old city of Bengaluru. The rituals for the festival began on April 9th and the Karaga Shaktyotsave (main event) was held after midnight on Saturday. The festival is celebrated each year to mark the return of Draupadi in the form of Adishakti, an avatar of Goddess Durga. One of the traditions entails a visit to the tomb of an 18th-century Muslim saint. It is seen as a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity in the city.
