INDIA, July 26, 2022 (Hindu Wire): The Kanwar Yatra of Shravan month, which started a day after Guru Purnima, ended with Jalabhishek on Shivratri on Tuesday. On Tuesday also three million Shiva devotees picked up the Ganges water and left for their states. The Guru Purnima festival was on 13th July. Kanwar Yatra started from 14th July. A large number of Kanwariyas started reaching Haridwar on the eve of 13th July. The administration had expressed the hope that about 40 million Kanwariyas would reach Haridwar. Accordingly the facilities were created. A traffic plan was implemented from the highway to the city. From July 22, both sides of the Delhi-Haridwar highway were occupied by Kanwariyas. The kanwar continued day and night. In the last three days of Dak Kanwar, there was a gathering of Kanwariyas everywhere. From Bairagi camp to Harki Paidi and the surrounding ghats and link roads, only Kanwariyas were seen. On Tuesday, the Kanwar Yatra ended safely with Shivratri.
