VARANASI, INDIA, August 28, 2022 (video is in Hindi): The Kashi Vishwanath Temple holds immense significance to Hindus as it is revered as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is visited by more than seven million devotees every year. In new developments, the divine shrine has now been restored and beautified with the Kashi Vishwanath Dham project by the government of India. Earlier the temple area was only 3,000 square feet. It has been enlarged to about 500,000 square feet and is able to accommodate 50,000-75,000 devotees at one time in the temple and temple premises. This additional space includes a wide corridor from the temple to the nearby ghats on the Ganga River.
