INDIA, August 9, 2023 (Indian Express): Ganesh Chaturthi will begin on September 19 this year. The festival in honor of Lord Ganesha is celebrated with much pomp and zeal across several states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. The Ganesh Utsav festival, celebrated for a period of 10 days, will conclude as Ganesha Visarjan on September 28. The day is celebrated to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, who is the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Considered an important Hindu festival, Ganesh Chaturthi is also called Vinayak Chaturdasi or Ganesh Utsav.
