INDIA, May 28, 2024 (MSN): According to the working paper of EAC-PM (Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister), which was released on Tuesday, the share of the Hindu population in India decreased by 7.82 percent between 1950 and 2015. In the corresponding period, the share of the Muslim population saw a 43.15 percent increase. The share of other religious minorities, barring Parsis and Jains, saw a rise in population up to 6.58 percent in these 65 years. According to the report, the share of the majority Hindu population in India decreased from 84.68 per cent to 78.06 per cent between 1950 and 2015. The share of the Muslim population increased to 14.09 percent.
