MUMBAI, INDIA, April 2, 2025 (Pop Diaries): The Siddhivinayak Temple located in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, is one of the most revered Hindu temples. Hundreds of thousands of people come there from all over the country to seek blessings from Lord Ganesha. These devotees also offer certain donations to the temples in terms of money. Recently, The Siddhivinayak Temple Trust reported that the temple earned a revenue of US$1.6 million for the financial year 2024-25, a 15 per cent increase from the previous year, according to executive officer Veena Patil. In the upcoming fiscal year, 2025–2026, the temple’s revenue is anticipated to increase to $1.85 million, according to the managing committee’s annual budget, which was presented on March 31.
Sandeep Rathod, deputy executive officer for Siddhivinayak, said, “Owing to the administration’s efficiency, our income expected to be $1.37 million rose to a record $1.6 million, surpassing the trust’s own estimates by 15%. We have seen that if devotees are facilitated with smooth darshan, if queues move swiftly in an orderly fashion, more people can take darshan, thus increasing donations. It ensures a pleasant visit experience. In Siddhivinayak, each devotee gets 10-15 seconds for darshan, which according to me, fares better than other large shrines, which grant 5-7 seconds. As a result, people’s hearts are inclined to donate more.” According to Rathod, the revenue comes from daan peti earnings, puja ceremonies, the sale of laddoo and other prasad, Internet donations, and gold-silver offerings.
