UNITED KINGDOM, February 9, 3017 (BBC): The multi award-winning travel documentary series The Real Marigold Hotel returns with a new line-up of senior stars, for a brand new Indian adventure. Catch the new series of The Real Marigold Hotel on BBC One from Wednesday 15 February at 9pm.
Inspired by, but unrelated to the blockbuster film, The Real Marigold Hotel follows the first series which saw a different group travel to Jaipur, to test if they would consider retiring to the other side of the world. Shown on BBC Two last year, it was the channel’s highest-rating factual series in 2016 and garnered critical acclaim – winning the prestigious Rose D’Or Award, a Grierson Award and a Broadcast award.
This new four-part series on BBC One will see the new cast of well-known senior citizens checking in to a shared 16th century guest house in a different part of India, as the group experience living out their golden years for four weeks in Kochi, a city in the southwest Indian state Kerala.
