AHMEDABAD, INDIA, December 20, 2022 (New India Abroad): Mahant Swami Maharaj and Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially kicked off the spectacular centennial celebration for Pramukh Swami Maharaj on December 14, 2022, in Ahmedabad, India. In the presence of Mahant Swami Maharaj and other influential Indian businessmen, the month-long “International Convention for Better Living” was launched by India’s Home Minister Amit Shah on December 15. The festival marked the culmination of five years of centennial celebrations around the world and months of planning by more than 80,000 devoted volunteers.
Mahant Swami Maharaj, the current spiritual head of the BAPS, noted the transformational impact of mandirs and added, “The mandir, according to Pramukh Swami Maharaj, is a place to realize God. Although it looks to be composed of stone, each stone is a factory for creating the ideal human, each one of which is filled with a heavenly life force.” Mahant Swami Maharaj’s vision for the month-long festival was to inspire others through Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s life, work, teachings, deeds and achievements.
