GHANA, February 8, 2024 (Times of India): The pran pratishtha of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra and the inauguration of Jagannath Temple, constructed by Utkala Ghana Association, has been completed in Accra, Ghana, in a grand manner. The ceremony was a nine-day program held from January 27 to February 4. The temple was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of India to Ghana, Manish Gupta. The proceedings were conducted by a team of five priests from Puri. The highlight of the event was the kalash yatra, in which over 1,000 devotees participated on January 28. From January 29 to February 3, daily around 200 devotees took active part in various rituals.

The temple complex boasts a shrine resembling the Puri Srikhetra. This complex includes the main Srimandira, as well as temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh, Ma Bimala, Ma Laxshmi and Lord Hanuman. The inauguration of the temple on February 4 was witnessed by 1,200 devotees. The Utkala Ghana Association was the main organizer of the temple construction and its pran pratishtha. Significantly, numerous Indian associations and countless Lord Jagannath devotees extended their support and assistance in this endeavor.
